Why does the console only read zeros?
If the console takes batteries, replace them. If this does not work or your console does not require batteries, check the reed switch or optic sensor.
Reed Switch: Unplug the treadmill and remove the motor hood cover. The reed switch is mounted on the frame next to the front roller pulley. There is a magnet glued into the front roller pulley. When adjusting the reed switch, make sure it is pointing directly at the magnet. Move the tip of the reed switch within 1/8" of the magnet. Also, check to see that the wire is not damaged, and is connected to the console.

Optic Sensor: Unplug the treadmill and remove the motor hood cover. The optic disk and sensor are located either at the end of the motor or the right hand side of the front roller. The optic disk spins between two sensors on the optic switch. The disk must spin freely without touching either sensor. The sensors can be moved by loosening the adjustment bolt holding the switch to its bracket. The switch can then be slid. Center the disk.

Why does the belt stop when I'm walking on the treadmill?
If the belt starts again when you step off, check the tension between the walking belt and board. The belt should lift 2-3". If the tension is fine, let the machine run by itself for a few minutes longer than your last workout or the last time the belt stopped. If the belt maintains its speed, the walking belt may be worn or lacking lubrication. Check your user's manual to find the lubrication appropriate for your machine.

How can I adjust the walking belt?
Treadmills have two different styles of walking belt adjustment. To see which type you have, look at the right hand side of the rear roller. If the bolt has an Allen wrench head, you have the two-adjustment bolt style. If the bolt is a hex head, you have the one-adjustment bolt style.
Two-adjustment bolts: If the walking belt has shifted to the left, first remove the safety key and unplug the power cord. Using the allen wrench, turn the left rear roller adjustment bolt clockwise, and the right bolt counter-clockwise, 1/4 of a turn each. Be careful not to over tighten the walking belt. Plug in the power cord, insert the safety key and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the belt is centered.

If the walking belt has shifted to the right, first remove the safety key and unplug the power cord. Using the allen wrench, turn the left rear roller adjustment bolt counter-clockwise, and the right bolt clockwise, 1/4 of a turn each. Be careful not to over tighten the walking belt. Plug in the power cord, insert the safety key, and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the belt is centered.

One-adjustment bolt: If the walking belt has shifted to the left, first remove the safety key and unplug the power cord. Using the allen wrench, turn the left adjustment bolt clockwise 1/4 of a turn. Plug in the power cord, insert the safety key, and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is centered.

If the walking belt has shifted to the right, first remove the safety key and unplug the power cord. Using the allen wrench, turn the left adjustment bolt counter-clockwise 1/4 of a turn. Plug in the power cord, insert the safety key, and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is centered.

How can I loosen or tighten the the walking belt?
Treadmills have two different styles of walking belt adjustment. To see which type you have look at the right hand side of the rear roller. If the bolt has an Allen wrench head, you have the two-adjustment bolt style. If the bolt is a hex head, you have the one-adjustment bolt style.
Two-adjustment bolt: To tighten the belt, remove the safety key and unplug the power cord. Using the Allen wrench, turn both the rear roller adjustment bolts clockwise 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is correctly tightened, you should be able to lift each side of the belt 2-3" off the walking platform. Be careful not to over tighten the walking belt. Plug in the power cord, insert the safety key, and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the belt is at the proper tension.

To loosen the belt, remove the safety key and unplug the power cord. Using the Allen wrench, turn both the rear roller adjustment bolts counter-clockwise 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is correctly tightened, you should be able to lift each side of the belt 2-3" off the walking platform. Plug in the power cord, insert the safety key, and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the belt is at the proper tension.

One-adjustment bolt: The tension can be adjusted by turning the right rear tension bolt. In order to adjust the bolt, you must hold the tension nut on the end of this bolt and put a second wrench on the bolt head. To tighten the walking belt, turn the bolt clockwise. To loosen the walking belt, turn the bolt counter-clockwise. When the walking belt is correctly tightened, you should be able to lift each side of the belt 2-3" off the walking platform. Plug in the power cord, insert the safety key, and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the belt is at the proper tension.

Why is there no reading from my chest pulse monitor?
-
Make sure the heart rate monitor is under your clothing, against your skin, and as high under the pectoral muscles as is comfortable. Note: If the heart rate monitor does not function when positioned as described, try moving it slightly lower or higher on your chest.
- Make sure the logo on the sensor is facing forward and is right side up.
- Use saline solution (saliva or contact lens solution) to wet the two electrode areas on the sensor unit. If the heart rate readings do not appear until you begin perspiring, re-wet the electrode areas.
-
As you walk or run on the treadmill, position yourself near the center of the walking belt. For the console to display heart rate readings
-
The heart rate monitor is designed to work with people who have normal heart rhythms. Heart rate detection problems may be caused by medical conditions such as premature ventricular contractions (pvcs), tachycardia bursts, and arrhythmia.
- The operation of the heart rate monitor can be affected by magnetic interference caused by high power lines or other sources. If you suspect that magnetic interference may be causing a problem, try relocating the treadmill.
-
If the heart rate monitor still does not function properly, test it by having another person try it.

Why is there no reading from my hand pulse grip?
-
Clean the metal contacts with a damp cloth.
- Make sure the palm of your hand is wrapping around both the top and bottom plates of the pulse sensor. Just the thumb wrapping around the bottom is not sufficient.
-
Before taking your pulse, stop walking and step onto the side rails. Holding still will bring the best pulse reading.
-
If no pulse at all appears on the console for a great length of time, the console software may be locked up and need to be reset. To reset the console:
-
Stop the machine and unplug from the wall, leaving the safety key in.
- Wait at least 30 seconds.
-
Plug the power cord back in, remove the safety key momentarily and then reinsert the key.
- Check the function of the hand pulse. If the pulse is still not registering, repeat this procedure.

What is the console demo mode?
When in Demo Mode, the console will go through a repeating lighting pattern. This mode will only become active when the treadmill is plugged in, the main on/off switch is turned on, and the safety key is not inserted into the console. The Demo Mode was added to attract attention to the treadmill while it is on display. By default, all treadmills with Demo Mode will come with it turned on. Demo Mode can be turned off at any time.
To switch from the Demo Mode:
-
Press and hold the STOP button while inserting the safety key to enter the user information mode.
- Look in the Calories window. When Demo Mode is active, the letter 'd' will appear.
-
Press the SPEED DOWN button to toggle the mode on and off.
- Once the mode is set as desired, remove the safety key.

What is the white powder coming from my treadmill?
Your treadmill features a maintenance-free walking belt coated with Performant Lube, a high-performance lubricant.
During the first few hours of use, it is normal for a small amount of white powder to appear on the foot rails, walking platform and possibly the floor. The white powder is high-performance lubricant from the walking belt.
Do not apply silicone spray or other substances to the belt or walking platform.

What is the difference between HP and CHP?
Treadmill motors are rated by the amount of horsepower they provide. The higher the horsepower (HP) rating, the larger and more powerful the motor. Some treadmills are rated at continuous-duty horsepower (CHP). A 2.0 CHP motor is actually more powerful than a 2.0 HP motor. For details, see below:
Continuous Duty Horsepower: A measurement of the motor's ability to maintain a listed HP over an extended period of time. This test is considered the most accurate indicator of motor output, because it is performed at the voltage used in application by the particular motor.
Horsepower: A calculation of the motor's maximum horsepower. This provides no measure of the motor's HP over an extended period of time. Experts agree that continuous-duty ratings are the more accurate indicator of true performance.

How do I tune in the channels on my TV console?
- Turn the Treadmill ON (Connect the power lead and turn on the power switch).
- Whilst holding down the STOP button, attach the safety key to the front of the console.
- Let go of the STOP button and press the ON/OFF button once.
- Wait for 10-20 seconds and then the screen settings menu will appear.
- Press the ON/OFF button a further 3 times and the display will show BROADCAST SYSTEM ALL CHANNELS
- Use the volume controls to choose your local mode of reception. In the UK the PAL I works in the majority of cases, but if you experience difficulties choose an alternative one.
- Remove the safety key and the channels will automatically tune into all available stations.
- Once complete reattach the safety key and a second scan will start.
- When the second scan is complete use the CHANNEL button to find your station.
IMPORTANT: The quality of the signal provided by a portable
antenna in most cases is not sufficient to guarantee a good reception. A fixed
roof-top aerial should be used to ensure the best quality picture.

My treadmill has an analogue TV receiver, how do I prepare for the digital switch over?
The TV treadmill has two inputs for a signal.
One is near the power inlet at the bottom of the machine. This is a standard aerial connection which connects to an analogue tuner. You can connect an aerial to this and the tuner will decode analogue TV signals. The TV tuner will cease to function when the analogue switch off occurs.
The second connection is on the rear of the console and is a composite connection. This allows any device with a composite or scart connection to be attached to the screen, e.g. a freeview box, DVD player or games console.
This connection does not have a tuning capability, it is necessary for the device attached to it to be transmitting a signal. If the device has only a scart output, you would need a scart to composite lead to attach this. These are available from most major electrical retailers.
To select which input is used, press the power button to the bottom left of the screen to alternate between inputs. For example, if you have a DVD player attached to the composite connections but can only see a snow/fuzz on the screen, press the power button and it will select the composite input and allow you to view the DVD.
